Membership Fees

Benefits of Membership:

With effect from 1 January 2024, new members and members renewing will not receive membership cards, but will instead receive vouchers

These vouchers will be provided via email, will contain your details, and be numbered

Vouchers will be valid for a period of 12 months from date of payment

Members will receive 6 vouchers allowing up to a maximum of 4 persons per voucher(member included) to visit Rietvlei Nature Reserve, Groenkloof Nature Reserve, Faerie Glen Nature Reserve and Wonderboom Nature Reserve free of charge.

Vouchers will need to be printed and upon entering the reserve be handed in at the reception. Entry will only be granted with the submission of a voucher

The vouchers do not restrict a member to a specific number of visits to a specific reserve. Any number of the 6 vouchers can be used to enter any of the applicable reserves

  • A Saturday work session once a month within the Reserve 
  • There is also a Wednesday work group who meet at Jackal’s Den every Wednesday from 08h00 to 13h00. Any members who are able to attend are welcome.

An Activity Schedule is provided annually to members which covers the above and special events taking place throughout the year (e.g. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and others)

Jackal’s Den/ Jakkalsgat offers basic overnight self-catering accommodation to members. It has 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeps 4 people. One room has a double bed and the other a double bunk bed. There are battery driven LED lights and solar geyser. It is not serviced. Booking and fee details can be obtained from
